Please send your membership renewals to the new PO BOX address and try and leave plenty of time for processing.
The new address is M.V.A.S. PO BOX 699 ROCHESTER ME1 9LW. If you have posted your renewal to the old PO BOX it will be redirected but may take a little longer.
Note* There is still a little confusion over the requirement for a SAE. You are not required to send an SAE as we charge £1.50 for this service. There were too many problems with people enclosing wrong sized envelopes and/or wrong postage so we now keep this in house for continuity.
Spider Hall Restocking
A major Spider Hall restocking program was carried out on Sunday 23rd April. This years total number of new fish now stands at 32 in the back lake and 65 in the front lake. The fish have been introduced following months of hard work by volunteers carrying out work to ensure the risk of further fish kills is now virtually nil.
We have kept the fish in our stock ponds while they grew to a suitable size for introducing into our waters. Previous ‘stockies’ have shown an incredible growth rate once introduced and we’re sure you’ll enjoy landing these exceptional fish that were once again purchased from the renown V S Fisheries.
Keep an eye out for news of further fish that will be introduced to some of our other waters in the coming months!

Improving the River Beult SSSI for people and wildlife
Natural England and the Environment Agency have recently invited us to help them improve the River Beult Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), between Hadmans Bridge near Smarden and its confluence with the River Medway at Yalding. This piece of work is part of an action plan being developed by the Medway Flood Partnership to better manage water across the catchment
Committee members Andy Wilmore and Paul Bundock will be getting involved with the project. If there are any other members with a keen interest in this project, please get in touch.
There are few more scenic and tranquil places to fish than Cross at Hand on the River Beult

Hinx Hill & Aldington
Both these waters have been producing some great sport for our members with good Carp and big hauls of Bream coming out of Aldington and, more recently, Hinx has sprung into life with Tench and Crucian Carp beginning to show. Some of the Tench we stocked a few years ago are now 4lb+ which is great news for a fish renown for it’s slow growth rate.
Those tiny Crucian Carp have come on nicely in two years
This popular water reopens for business on Bank Holiday Monday, May 1st following it’s annual 6 week break.
