This is a very versatile water, with a wide range of baits and methods proving successful. It is possible to catch all day long on the whip with maggot and finish with a bag of roach, perch and rudd in your keepnet. The Longer pole will find better quality roach, and perhaps the odd bream on sweetcorn. The waggler angler will find much the same with a bed of groundbait increasing the chance of a good bag of skimmers. Top method for the bream, however, is the feeder fished at a reasonable distance, often resulting in large bags of fish to around 4lb.
The carp fishing has been very good in the last few years, with a good number of 30lb+ fish showing. They can be caught anywhere from the margins up to the edge of the island. I have had several fish well into double figures on worm fished close to the bank.
